An Alphabet of Sunday Rhymes By Joan Gale Thomas F FOR THE FRUITS

An Alphabet of Sunday Rhymes
By Joan Gale Thomas

F FOR THE FRUITS

F for the fruits
and flowers

For the Fruits and the Flowers so gay

We took to the church on Festival Day.

Some roses I carried, and five ripe plums,

And others took grapes and chrysanthemums.

And armfuls of poppies and corn we brought,

And fruits and flowers of every sort.

And up to the church on the hill we all went,

To thank the good Lord for the Harvest He'd sent.
